 Believe it or not!

These are real things

we've seen here in California.

This is an interesting piece of history. Will Rogers was the most famous man in America in the 1930s - more famous than any movei star or politician. He was also a flying enthusiast who first flew - it's said- by going to the post office, weighing himself and buying postage, so he could fly on a mail plane - before any scheduled passenger flights!

He and his close friend Wiley Post planned a round-the-world trip, but they crashed in Alaska and were killed. At the Rogers ranch in Santa Monica, CA, this globe still stands in his office, with his penciled-in route they planned to fly. Here's a bigger photo so you can see the details!

Amazing what you see in traffic! And they have a website. Check out the slideshow - I really thought this one was cool. Talk about a rider needing concentration!

 Sidewalk Sushi? Under construction?

Your guess is as good as mine!

Yep, that's Elvis, in the back seat of a pink Cadillac convertible.

Fallbrook has its moments...

 Elvis in a pink Cadillac
Instant history! How quaint.  historical building
Great mural on a building in Fallbrook. Looks real enought to pick.  Fallbrook mural
Spotted on a VW Jetta of course!
If you have a display of coverings for women's bottoms, what shape should the vases be?

Fallbrook, Albertson's parking lot

Look closely.
Porsche 996 Turbo, all black , chrome rims.
Driver, mid 20s, blonde, dressed in all black.
Back seat: 2 preschool kids in car seats.
Missed the photo of her putting 3 grocery bags in the front.

Sign for a county work camp for inmates in San Diego County.

Look closely, on the left is the street name: "Fink Road" and on the right, a sign saying "Dead End," obviously a commentary on the future of the inmates there.

Borrega Springs, Anza Borrega Desert Park

And if you head just south, you are in "Hellhole Canyon." Totally believeable if you have ever been in the desert in the summer...good reason to stay north!

Shops in Santa Monica tell it like it is.
Santa Monster! Just down the street from Dan's home.
She actually worked for the coroner's office.
The daily specials are, well, special.
And what would you expect to find hanging in a Frank Lloyd Wright home in LA? Why a marionette of the man himself!
