Irrigation Systems

City Water System The copper pipes go into the house through a filter. It can be turned off separately. The plastic ball valve cuts off the city water irrigation system, no longer used for any timed systems and only for the manual watering of the native garden.

Pond System The pipe going up the side of the tank is being pumped from below. The red pump pressurizes the buried irrigation system using the smaller white tank as a pressure buffer. The pipe connected bewteen the pump and pressure tank feeds the underground system.

The hose outlet feeds a irrigation system for the side of the barranca from one outlet and a hose pipe from the other. The downpipe has a cutoff valve for the whole pump system. Below ground it splits to a pipe along the South side near the fence/wall with the neighbors and a set of outlets on the North side.

The box in the barn, on the left next to the refrigerator, has a cutoff for the whole pump system.

Down at the pond, the pump has a cutoff switch at the top of this photo under the leaf. This only cuts off the immersed pump in the pond. There is a hose also if needed.

The immersed pump is next to the dam. It has a handle to pull out for cleaning or during flash floods.

This is the new consolidated watering system for the "rock garden" around the patio. One valve waters the entire system.

These two timers control the Macadamia trees (RH timer) and the berries along the wall and in the barrels (LH timer)

This is the city water systems for watering the macadamia trees and the berries all at once. No longer in use.

City water system for rock garden and macadamias. The two on the right are for the rock garden in two sections (now one on the pump system) and the one on the far left is for the macadamias and berries.

The system for the gardens here is behind the fence with the honeysuckle.

There are 4 outlets here, 3 used. One (left) is a manual hose outlet. The big blue timer controls the gardens nearest the fence and down the hill behind the fence. The small black controls the system for garden near the dirve with the corn and grapes.

Berries are on the blue timer

Garden beds also on the blue timer.

There is an outlet on the S (house) side of the fence that is city water. Not currently used.

THis is a pump system outlet for use with a hose.

This is a pump system iwth a timer for trees on the N side of the barn and outlets for hoses. There is a second outlet also.

The native garden is still on a city water sprinkler system. There is a valve in the ground to turn the sprinklers on. THere is a hose outlet there too.

City water outlet near the barn on the S side. Careful - it does not have a positive stop on the ball valve so the handle must be precisely positioned to turn water off.

Another city water outlet on the NW corner of the barn.

Pump system and timers for the trees (L timer) and gardends (R timer)

Gardens are on that timer system.

Trees are on the other timer.

This is a pump outlet with controls for the upper succulent garden (the hose connecting up the hill to the hose near the wall) and the lower succulent garden (the hose going straight down the lower wall). The outlet has two hose outlets too.

Front succulent gardens are tied to two systems. This is the upper level tied to the city water - not to be used.

The lower front succulent garden is on city water controlled by a ball valve next to the SE corner of the house. Not normally used.

City water outlet on SW corner of house. Not normally used.

City water outlet on NW corner of house. Used for patio watering.

CIty water outlet in pond. Not normally used since city water needs to be conditioned for pond. Use pump water for pond.

Filling pond from pump outlet across the driveway. Fill pond until the flat rock is covered with water.
