Grand Canyon 2-09

We visited the Grand Canyon on February 6-7, 2009, coming in from the East to see parts we had not seen on a previous trip. This is just outside the park on Indian land.

You can see the muddy river below.

Grand View, another overlook, just inside the park.

Grand View

You can see why they call it "Grand View" - one of the most spectacular views!

Grand View. Note the criss-crossed clouds in the sky. What kind of screwed up weather is coming?

We stayed here at El Tovar Lodge at the Grand Canyon. The ominous sky eventually brought snow flurries just as we were leaving.

Snow was still around.
