I am an amateur photographer who owes my interest in photography to Howard Wolery, my high school art teacher who got my brother and me interested in sports cars and me into art and photography. Howard had great taste, driving Alfas and Porsches, shooting Leicas and Hasselblads. I bought a used Leica M2 in the early 60s and kept it for almost 15 years before secumbing to the lure of the SLR (Pentax Spotmatic, then Nikons). When I met my wife Karen, we shared an interest in art and roamed art galleries wherever we travelled, often buying some but more often just looking - and I take photos of people and art. In the last decade, befitting my high tech interests, I've moved into digital photography, not so much for it's abilities for image manipulation as its convenience and ability to produce images comparable to film. I'm currently shooting a Nikon D200, Panasonic FX01 and Casio EX-S2 which is always in my pocket. These are simply some images I like.
I'm just an amateur who shoots pictures for fun and personal satisfaction. I've allowed many of my photos to be used in books, magazines, newspapers, websites, bar menus, rock group mascots, a Harvard University poster and even by car clubs for printing on memoribilia. Generally, I'm flattered to let you use my images, as long as I'm given credit. Just email me for permission - jeh-at-jimhayes.com

Note: It's been suggested I reorganize this page into smaller pages with fewer photos per page, maybe organized by categories, but, you know, I like it this way, sorta chronological, mixed up and disorganized - I just like it that way!
